Countdown to Thanksgiving: 20 Days

I'm thankful for PRAYER.

We have this painting in our house.  I LOVE it.
 It's called, "The Praying Jew"
I love the feeling of comfort I get when I pray and afterwards.  I love that after a rough day I can pour my heart out to God and he "gets" me and lets me know that it's going to be alright.  I love that when I have a problem I can ask for guidance and it's given.  I love that there are always answers, and I understand that sometimes the answer is "no" but there is ALWAYS an answer.  I love when I pray about something and then get a little acknowledgement in the next few days afterwards where I KNOW its God saying "I hear you."

I don't care what you call it: Heavenly Father, God, "The Universe", Allah, The Powers that Be, Vishnu, G-d, Buddha, whatever it is... It still feels good, and I'm thankful for it.

I love this hymn (here is the you tube video of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing it if you want to listen):

Did you Think to Pray? (140)

Ere you left your room this morning,
Did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ, our Savior,
Did you sue for loving favor
As a shield today?

Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
Don’t forget to pray.

When your heart was filled with anger,
Did you think to pray?
Did you plead for grace, my brother,
That you might forgive another
Who had crossed your way?

Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
Don’t forget to pray.

When sore trials came upon you,
Did you think to pray?
When your soul was full of sorrow,
Balm of Gilead did you borrow
At the gates of day?

Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
Don’t forget to pray.
