Basically, it is about a little mouse, who you give a cookie to and then a big adventure all around the house happens with one thing reminding the mouse to do something else. Well... anyway, this morning I was reading it to Marcus and was struck by a certain part after the mouse eats the cookie, he wipes his face and looks in the mirror and realizes he needs to trim his hair...
"When he's finished giving himself a trim, he'll want a broom to sweep up.
He'll start sweeping.
He might get carried away and sweep every room in the house.
He may even end up washing the floors as well!"
You know, I would trade a cookie for a mouse to do that.
... I need to go bake some cookies! (Now where is my cleaning mouse!?)
We have "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" and it's the same thing, just different characters. It's hard for me to read it because it's practically my life. Only things rarely come full circle.
ReplyDeleteThere is also "If you give a pig a pancake" It's a pretty good one too. I love all of the "if you... a....a..." books! :)
